The nationwide KWF-INFORM study is in full swing! With this implementation study, the researchers involved are committed to improving care for young women with cancer and risk of fertility loss. One way they are doing this is by implementing the Cancer and Child Desire decision aids for female AYA patients with breast cancer, hematological cancer and gynecological cancer. This provides them with additional information during a difficult decision moment to undergo fertility treatment or not.
The researchers have so far launched the study in 10 hospitals in the Nijmegen and Utrecht regions and will continue to expand throughout the Netherlands over the next two years. From IQ Health, Felicia Lusing, physician-researcher, Dr. Julie Swillens, Drs. Marjan Knippenberg and Prof. Dr. Rosella Hermens are involved.
