The latest issue of the Journal of Healthcare and Ethics focuses on the ethical and socio-cultural aspects of women’s health, as well as the lived reality of women’s health. This is because there is still a serious lack of knowledge about women’s health and the dissemination of that knowledge. The articles in this special issue invite the reader to understand women’s health beyond the realm of medical practice.
If we want to address the knowledge gaps surrounding women’s health and provide women with better care, we must also consider how power structures, systemic injustice, social norms and women’s lived experiences are inextricably linked to good care and appropriate knowledge.
