The IQ Health department, together with the companies Health Innovation Labs and Ivy Medical and the departments of Nephrology and Orthopaedics at Radboudumc, recently secured a two-year funding for Project PRIME, to boost public-private partnerships. This initiative aims to develop, and pilot test the Ivy Duo+, an innovative portable infusion pump designed to improve patient mobility, minimize disruptions, and reduce nurse workloads by automating complex infusion schedules.
Project PRIME's objective is to transform clinical infusion practices and extend the benefits of the new technology to a transmural care setting. Supported by Stichting Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen and home care organization Pantein Zorggroep, the consortium is dedicated to shaping the future of infusion therapy beyond hospital walls.
Upon completion, the Ivy Duo+ will be ready for commercialization, providing valuable insights for broader implementation. Since 2019, Radboudumc and Ivy Medical have collaborated on the Ivy Duo+, and this project marks a significant milestone toward their ultimate goal: moving patients, supporting nurses, and making significant impact on quality of healthcare together.
