Moral deliberation and ethics

The Ethics of healthcare R&E group can be engaged for moral deliberation and ethics discussions/consultations in addition to regular consultations and services.

About

In moral deliberation we examine and discuss, preferably with different disciplines at the same time, moral issues that arise in healthcare. These may be acute moral issues concerning casuistry, where moral deliberation is necessary to arrive at well-considered decisions. But moral deliberation can also be used to explore broader moral themes together or to look back on events and decisions from the recent past.
In a moral deliberation, those involved speak for themselves, under the guidance of an ethicist/experienced discussion leader. The moral deliberation is discussed with the discussion leader beforehand, and the organization of the moral deliberation is coordinated. Everyone from Radboudumc and the Radboudumc network can submit a request for moral deliberation.

About

In addition to moral deliberation, the Ethics of healthcare R&E group offers other forms of ethics support. This support is always customized. Examples include structural ethics discussions within a department or team, individual consultations with caregivers or relatives and patients, advice on research and innovation, et cetera.
